The artic cat turbo comes with a 121x1.25" rip saw quiet track on it.I know the quiet track really helped the f7,s(buddy has one)in the track noise dept.

When I get a few more thousand miles on my ripsaw I was going to replace it with the quiet track but just wondering if anyones beat me to it?

Also yesterday I rode a new f7 crossfire it had the 136"x15"x1.25 quiet track on it.Didnt notice any track noise on it either.

How is it different? What makes it quiet ??

The track has raised sections along it where the idler wheels ride. My father's '04 T660 has a 'quiet' track on it and it does work. It isn't the ripsaw that year though. My '04 F7 EXT doesn't have it and I have alot of track noise. I've been reading this forum the last couple weeks, because I'm seriously thinking about getting a new Apex next year.

favorcat ,my buddy with the 03 f7 is also thinking about a apex gt or rtx .He says the sound is addicting, actually hes the one who talked me into the rx1 this year,i was going to get a fusion, glad I didnt.

They do sound nice. I'm just a little worried about some of the posts here about the '05 rear suspension wearing out. I put on 4-5,000 miles/year, and I don't want to have to rebuild suspensions. My F7 EXT also has a loud howl to it in the 30-40 mph range and I would like something quieter next year. Is Yamaha going to try and quiet the track noise down and will the 05 rear suspension hold up better with the new grease fittings? Something to ask at the shows this spring? I know no sled is perfect, and I'm ready to go 4-stroke for the miles I put on every year and think the Apex would be great for me.

The 05 mono shock needs to have grease fittings added and I'm told that all the repacement bushings are of a harder material......So after the first rebuild you should be good to go.....It sucks buying first year stuff :o|

I'm sorry, I meant the 06 holding up better than the 05. It looks like you answered my ? and I should be alright with the 06. I'm getting prices on the Apex ER now and will be going to Montreal to see them the 22nd along with all the other manufacturers. It all depends if Cat comes out with a new 4-stroke and if they do it had better sound awfully good or it will be an Apex. Polaris and Doo are out of it for me. I don't trust Doos motors for the miles I put on.
