I've read lots of posts about how the vector will hang with the apex's up to about 60-70 - then the 150hp takes over on the 120's.
But - what I'm wondering - is those that have ridden both - can you FEEL the difference on hard accelleration between the vector and apex sleds on shorter quick bursts of the throtte - or will you only know the difference on long lake acceleration shots ?

3-CYL has more punch out of the hole than the apex, even more than my warrior.Above 70mph thats where the extra cylinder helps, way longer legs.

I have to disagree. My Apex feels lake a top fuel dragster compared to my fathers Vector. It is true, however, that a Vector may get you off the line for a SHORT distance but it's only because it's harder to launch the Apex without track spin. From a rolling start you will leave a Vector like you've been shot out of a cannon.

Bill is 100% right if both sleds can hook up it like trying to beat a top fuel dragster, pitting a vector against a good running apex/attak we have had all three, attak apex's three of them and the 05 vector with the rising rate skid or ck and i can smoke my vector anytime anyplace on hard pack, and even if we were in loose snow and he got out me it would not take me long to pass him, heck even the one we have and it is a very good going vector i know cause i broke it in the same way i did all my rx1 and apex sleds and this vector runs 109 on the gun down long lake on the same conditions we ran our apex sleds at only 114-118 gps but let me tell ya,you can let the vector go 30 lengths and we can reel him in and blow by him before he even gets close to the end from van buren cove to the sporting club, apromt. 5 miles long.

Have both, both studded, no comparison. Apex is much more of a brute outta the whole.

My wife rides a Vector GT and I have the Apex GT. The Vector seems like it has more torque down below in the engagent to 6000 range. That is where it ends. When we race she is close to me till about 50 then the Apex checks out. The Vector is very smooth and quiet and makes a great corner to corner trail with great fuel economy(18-20MPG).

I had a vector er(sold it) and then bought an apex er. The apex feels much quicker. There is something about the accelleration "hit" of that engine...had the chance to try '05 machs,800zr, '05 rev 800 p. tek and while they aren't slow by any means, they just don't have that addictive rush when you stab the throttle(especially when on good hardpack...hang on!) :jump: Even the guys who own those sleds all are amazed at the "hit". As for your question, I tryed a nytro last week and while we didn't line up to race,it didn't have the rush of the apex. The owner of the nytro got off the apex and said"I've got to get one"! He'll be on an RTX soon. ;)!

Yea the APEX feels like a top fuel dragster compared to my friends Vector. BIG TIME!!!

I haver ridden both and own a Vector. The 150 are fast, but with that said, clutch the Vector. The stock Vector clutching is not even close for performance use, great for trail cruising. Once clutched you releash the beast in a Vector. In my opinion the 120 is a much better trail engine than the 150. More low end torq and better mileage. Many will be switching to the new 130 next year from the 150. If you want top end, go with the 150, if you want a great corner to corner engine, go 120. Just my 2 cents!

The Vector was equal to the RX-1 up to about 80 mph, but the Apex engine has several little things about it that give it the edge of the Vector.
EFI and a lighter crank give it quicker throttle response than the Vector's triple and the 4-banger still has the topend advantage over the Vector.

Fuel Injection in 08! The 120 has a bigger bore and longer stroke than the 150.

Do a search, I know there are Dyno Graphs on here of both the 120 and 150. As far as overlays, I do not know.

i tell you guys, you want the apex feel like a dragster put some studs down the middle and get an ulmer clutch kit.
