Ok...so the little noise below is once again donuts. Sounded like a misfire! In fact, any noise from mid chassis is donuts..I'm convinced of that. Three were perfect, but the cylinder on the oil tank side was just starting to go, and the clamp was loose. So here's the deal....the flex pipes work well, so why should we NOT grind the clamshell clamp stops so they are tight? I see no reason why the clamp should be able to spin (with effort) after tightening. Anyway, I ground about .030" from each block and they tightened up nicely, and the sled is once again sounding like new. Tightened any rivets too. Since I had the whole system loose, after reassembly, I shook it hard and the flex pipes really do thier job...so....let's see how long this lasts...but the loose clamp one was bad..that tells me loose is NOT good!!!
Also....since I pulled the suspension out of boredom (no snow..no blizzard..liars!!) I forgot how to sync the R/A knob....I turned the shock adjust fully clockwise, til it stopped, and the tunnel knob to full hard. Turning the shock adjuster counterclockwise..well, it kept going so that made me nervous, since there are only 22 clicks from the tunnel knob....so I bottomed it and went from there. Opinons welcome!!!

I have always ground the clamp stoppers when doing the donuts for the 2nd time... Its a must, with all the heat cycles they usually never stay tight. As far as the RA, full hard with the adjuster and then full hard on the shock... there are several more click on the shock then on the adjuster... and they are on the soft side and they dont really do anything to the suspension... so if you set it at full soft you will loose your max adjustment. Make sense?

For me I found the only reason why the clamps go loose is the flange on the pipes get thin which make them loose. I had to install a new y pipe on one side and the clamps worked great. But on the other older y pipe the clamps were loose and I could see that the flange was thinner. The only true fix would be to get a new y pipe, but why would you when you can grind the clamp down and get a few more years out of the old y pipe until it lets go or until end of winter at the least.... For the adjuster the one on the tunnel goes as far as it can counter clockwise I believe and the one in the shock goes as far as you can clockwise as the gears inside the adjuster makes the cable turn the opposite of what the adjuster on the tunnel turns.. I am pretty sure that's the way you turn the adjuster and shock but ill check for sure.

Thanks Mr. Sled..and others. I used to remember all this stuff on the top of my head, but I reasoned full hard, where the adjuster stops..and set the r/a to full hard, and that means, well, I will have the full range to full hard. I can't ride on maximum soft anyway..too soft. So thank you!
Also, the flanges look good on all the pipes, and honestly, each pipe's clamp fit a little differently, so I ground a little at a time until it was tight. Probably some manufacturing and wear tolereances going on. But a race car mechanic friend said make them tight...no reason they should ever be loose, as that's what the flex pipes are for. And I did a nice job, per Rocker Dan, only 2500 miles ago, including a new tube of high temp ultra copper...and three were perfect..so I'm hoping this is it.

Thanks 06 apex! I remember seeing that instruction!! Full hard...just forgot to do it and then was playing with it when I remembered I shouldn't have done that....LOL!!!
Whats worse, I got everything cleaned, together, and no juice...no start! and I just bought a new battery for it last week!! Took the pod and plastic off to check all the wiring and then saw I accidentally hit the kill switch. Yeah..like that never happens to anyone!!! LOL
