Has anyone put Apex handle bars (the ones with the little hooks on the ends) on their RX1? I'm thinking of doing this because there isn't as much of a rise in the Apex bars as compared to the RX1's and I think it would look better on a riser. Are the grip heaters compatible with the RX's?

I have 07 Apex bars on my RX Warrior the plugs on the grip[s are not the same but some people have wired them to make them work but im getting a yamaheater to make them plug and play. Which will also make the apex bars warmer which most people complain about.

So if you splice in the old connectors they should, in theory, work? Also, is that a 6" riser you are running on your sled?

Im not 100% sure about how to wire them in im sure someone will be able to help.

When my sled was red I had a 4" block riser with RX bars

Now I have a LES Riser 2.5" pivot with 5" block with 07 Apex bars

The Apex bars have a different system than the RX series. The Apex needs power and negative to both bars and the RX has a closed loop system where the power goes in to one bar and the nbegative hooks to the other bar. If you go with the Apex bars It is worth every penny to Add the Yamaheater because there is not enough power from the stator to run those bars unless the sled is running higher RPM's.

mbarclay, which yamaheater are you going to use? I recently bought a set of apex bars as well.

Your sled Is looking great!!

pm Rockmeister he said he can but bullet connectors like the RX-1 on the inputs & the Apex connectors like your bars for the outputs to make it plug and play.

The 07 Apex bars must be connected in parallell, like said + and - have to go from the harness to both warmers. From + in the harness two wires goes to + on each of the warmers, the same goes for the - on the harness, two wires goes to each of the warmers, thus they are connected in parallell.

I blew my Viper up last winter and decided to buy a new sled this year. I just picked up an 04 RX-1 with 2000 miles on it. I have a set of 06 Apex bars on my Viper that I want to switch over the the RX, they are the same as the 07 ones you guys are talking about I would assume??

So by what I've read, I need a yamaheater for these to work? Or will the grips just be not as hot as they should be with out one? Also what is the max height the bars can go without changing cables? I have 3" (or maybe 4 idk) rox pivots on the viper I want to switch also. thanks

I picked up a brand new set of update bars for a 06 that are the same as the 07 (heated right to the end) from my local dealer which came with a sub lead harness for $90.00 cnd with the grips installed. All i had to do was remove apex connectors and install my RX bullets. Works perfect

Of course you wired the Apex heaters in parallel rather than series? Didn't you?

I am not 100% sure as the bars came with the sublead all taped up, I PM'ed Rock about it and he told me it was as simple as switching connectors if the sublead was included with the bars
