I am looking for some feedback on MBRP and their Head Pipes for yamaha APEX.
Power?
Noise?
Quality?
Are they larger Diameter tubes than stock.
I still have the Ti head pipes in mine and would like to switch to these or Excell head pipes.

Don't know on those, but the excels have slightly better flow than oem, fit perfect with great quality. Raised my rpm 100-200 rpm. Glad I went that route.

thanks
Do I need a PCV for the install of Excell Head pipes or do they not lean out the sled enough?

Is this a 06 - 2010 Apex, or a 2011-2012? If 06-2010, you should be fine unless you mod your airbox too. If you do the airbox too or have a 2011+, then you'll prob want a fuel controller to 1)make sure your getting proper fuel amounts, and 2), to realize the sled's full potential.

Mine is 07 attak. Stock airbox with excell headers and stock muffler. No controller needed.
X2 on super sleds comments with the 2011 or 2012. A controller is needed in stock form for these, so I can only imagine that any mods to intake or exhaust would preform worse without a controller

With full Excel exhaust you'll want a fuel controller/ compensator, otherwise you go lean and not even realize the benefits of the full exhaust.
But in terms of which one there are lots of choices, not just pc5. Call Allan Ulmer and talk to him. He's done a lot of testing and he told me pc3 and ign module combo will still add more hp than a pc5 on our sleds (Apex/Attak). That was this summer. All depends on what you want tho. The pc5 is smaller and can be more convenient. Pc5 also has Autotune which can help get you really close. But then again, Ulmer can pre-install fuel maps on any of these programmers which will be really, really close.

Thants what I figured, Ill hold off till next year anyway on the head pipe and Fuel controller combo. From this fourm I know to go with Excell head pipes and PC V and maybe by then there will be a Ign module for the 5
