Would anyone have any experience using Apex Mt Ski's verses the standard Apex ski? I have an Attak and am currently using the Bergstrom ski savers and triple points on stock ski's with great results.

Last winter I made the switch to the mountain ski for my 07' Attak. I did the shim mod though and use Stud Boy Shaper bars and I like them alot. They float alot better and with the shim mod and the shaper bars they handle great the darting was non exsistent except for in some real wet heavy snow and that was minimal compared to the stock ski. But admittedly I hadn't done the shim mod to the stock ski. But off trail they really shined for me when they were on the ground anyway LOL.

Thanks for the info. Seems like a more affordable way to go rather than other aftermarket options. I have no complaints with the stock ski's other than they aren't any good off trail which unfortunately I don't have an opportunity to do much of. I am using shims along with the bergstrom savers and triple points, very little to no darting, a little push in the corners but nothing major.

I have the Mountain Skis with Woodies dualies on my 07 Attak GT. I really like them. They steer very easy and no darting. And I mean no darting.
I ride groomed trails mostly in Northern Ontario. They are also great when getting into deeper snow. I also have a set of Curve XS which look awsome on the sled. They bite extremely good in corners, but steer a little harder and do get some darting. I will try to do more work with them. Jim

Hey TyranAttak/ Blade /All:
Where did you get your Apex Mountain skis? Did you just order the plastic skis and use your hardware from your stock skis, or order the entire mountain skis complete? If don't mind, how much were Apex Mnt skis?
Anyone else: Any specific place is best to order these skis from? Or anybody want to sell good used ones (Black)????
One more Q.:
Can I use Woody's Dooleys with Apex Mnt Skis?
Thx,
Mike

I got mine from a guy over at John Dee's snow central for $100.00 came with all the new hardware but mine were used for 1 season then the guy sold his sled. You can get them right from Yamaha dealers for $101.95 a ski bottom (part #8FK-23711-00), you will need a new ski mounting bolt $4.11(part#90105-10106-00) 1 per side, and mounting collars for each ski they're $2.01 (part #90387-16013-00) 2 per ski and part #90387-10036-00 1 per ski for $7.16. This is from the Yamaha's accessory catalog 09' version. You can use your ski loops and any skeg that works on you stock ski should work on the mountain ski. You can get the skis in Black, Blue,or Red. For the color you just add Bk for Black, Bl for Blue, or Rd for Red to the part number listed above. So as I said in your other post you could probably get everything for around $220- $230.00 depending on your dealer as the above prices are suggested retail. My dealer gives me 20% off. I think they're a great ski if you do the ski shim mod they don't dart and they float great off trail for alot cheaper than $400.00 compared to most other skis out there. Not saying the other skis aren't good but these fit the bill for me just fine. Gene

When I first got my mountain skis the guys I ride with were busting on me about my new clown feet..............
I will never use another standard ski for my Attak. I use the Bergstrom Triple Point Bars, Ski Savers and I also shim the skis and I LOVE this set-up.
