Who runs a fully clipped 1.25" ripsaw track on their Apex shorties.I tried to clip mine with the "high speed waved clips" and only got worst slide wear than the standard "opened closed set up".Is it because of the type of clips "waved instead of flat"?????

I run a fully clipped .75 adventure track on my Attack. I have 440 miles and zero Hyfax wear. I've run in some poor conditions.

dyama - I noticed the exact same thing when I briefly (before it exploded violently) ran a camoplast 9833 fully clipped track on my RX1. The slider wear was negligible until the new track, then it chewed it all the way down REAL fast. After going back to 1/3 clipped, haven't experienced any significant slider wear with either of two suspensions I've had in that track.

I run a fully clipped Hacksaw on my RTX. Before I fully clipped it I ran on a lake with an RX-1 that had a fully clipped 1.25 6 pitch. First run across about 1/2 mile. 6 pitch clips and sliders cold. Hacksaw clips so hot I could not keep my finger on it and there were slider shavings stuck to them. Fully clipped it and no more problems.

I run a fully clipped ripsaw on the turbo Attak with ski-doo extroverts. I would not use the wave clips though. I dont understand why people would use those bolts in the closed window, rather than do a punch and clip. I wish Yamaha would send them out the door with fully cliped tracks. Much less sticking and rolls soooo much easier! Closed window tracks fine if in snow. Terrible in marginal conditions! Much like their cooling systems.

KnappAttack,
No, they are not the screw type that goes in the closed sections, they are the real clips that you and on onced the track wholes are done. But they are the corrigated types that BRP used last year and stopped using.I have been through 4 sets of slides very quickly and always ran a loose track. The problem is related to the addition of more clips and the type. The Yammys do not like fully clipped tracks because of the way that mono skid works (lots of pressure on the belly)I am not sure that a standard Clipped ripsaw track would help the sliders lives! What do you guys think?

I understand its fully cliped. I was only stating it would be better to have it fully cliped than to have the bolts like some opt to use. Take the wave style off and clip on the smooth. You'll be much happier.

SLP wear pads

KnappAttak, what don't you like about the wear pad bolts? Seems better than leaving it as-is.

I will bet the wave clips are not the problem. I had them on my Ski-Doo and it had 5200 miles when I sold it and the sliders looked like new. Stock and fully clipped I have yet to get 800 miles with the Yamaha Vector.

xcsp, Punch and clip is lighter than adding all the bolts. Also introduces more cooling air and snow fully punched and clipped. Its the best way to reduce the friction. I do not understand why they do not come fully clipped. It can't cost that much more, and added weight is minimal considering the friction reduction.

I was under the impression that the "closed" windows were to help keep snow in the track for hyfax cooling. Roughly, what does it cost to have the track punched and clipped?

Punched and clipped (with flat clips) Gained 3 mph. No slide wear in 800 miles. Can't park on a hill without the parking brake. (it will roll away) One of the best improvements that I have made.
