I sold my 06 apex and am looking to by another sled. Loved my apex but thinking about an 08 nitro. Is there much difference in top speed and low end? How about ride?

Thanks, John

Low end will go to the Nytro, After 90 Mph (at least that's the word here) the Apex will get it. If your in to top end 100+ the Nytro is probably not your sled. If you’re in to 0-90 and banging trails the Nytro RTX will be perfect. If 0-90 and decent bump ability, the standard is probably better fit. I have an 06' Apex RTX, and a Nytro S.E. now, I've only got a few miles in a back field on the S.E. and have everything set to middle, but I can tell you this, the Apex motor will be missed. Not that I don't like the Nytro motor but the Apex is just crazy. The Nytro is not going to ride as smooth as the Apex did; I'm ok with that knowing that the bump capability has gone through the roof. Even with everything set to middle it feels stiff, that’s a good thing. While putting the HyGear rear in my Apex, made it about as good as can be it wouldn't hold a candle to the pounding the Nytro can take. But if the trails are on the smoother side the Apex would blow away the Nytro no doubt. Honestly, if you had issues with bottoming (assuming revalves and other efforts were done) I would go Nytro, If you had no issues with bottoming then I would go either Vector or Apex with a Mono. Also consider fuel range, the Nytro is good for about 90 miles, Apex over 120; some have gone 140-150. Storage options are limited on a Nytro as well all things to further complicate the matter.

The RTX is geared lower than the other Apes. I dont know if the Nytro will have as easy a time with the RTX on the bottom as ther others.

Maybe someone else has seen these two compared.

LJ 452 hit it on the head.

You need to describe the exact riding that you like to do. If you are big field/lake runner kind of guy, the nytro is not for you. If you love to hammer the bumps while doing a little corner to corner racing, you will love the nytro.

Low end, the nytro is good to go. I play raced my buddy on his Apex GT (Stock), and I had him up until about 80, but he blew by me after that. My nytro tops out at 95 (On a smooth surface).

No comment.... :4STroke:

As far as ride, my impression after a 5 minute test ride on an '08 - seems like you ride a lot further forward on the Nytro compared to the Apex - kinda like a Rev? I remember thinking I had not made a mistake going Apex, but that's just me....

my 07 apex rtx would take a nytro from start to finish my buddys apex er would lose on the bottom but over take the nytro on top apex rtx's are geared lower than the other apex's
