I've been doing some reserch on the new 121 dragon 800s and they sound like a good sled, but I was wondering how they performed from low to high range speeds, compared to an apex 121.

Will the apex be in front all the way to top end?

Will the 800 win because it is lighter than an apex?

Will it be a close race?

Will the 800 get the holeshot?

My dads wanting an 800 and he thinks that the 800 is just as fast if not faster than and apex but I think the apex will beat it cause of the torque and the pull the thing has. So hopefully Im right, but if I could find an answer that would be great.
Thanks, Timberwolf

My buddy had the 800 Dragon last season along with a Shift....they GPS'd them both..the D8 pulled 101 while the Shift hit 97.....during some drag racing the Shift was licken the snowflap of the D8...I don't think I'd worry too much about losing to one.

My Attak smoked one last year like it was a 500, but with their updated stuff being installed this year, the HP really comes to life according to Jim @ Dynotech.

Well, they got a hole new top end this year, because half of them blew up. You needed a PCIII to get them to get close to the 149hp mark.

They updated it this year, but we will see if there new map will work or if the EPA will let them release it.

check out dynotech research for the 09-10 update dyno runs. I still don't think you will have a problem especially on the big end ;)

Without getting into 2s vs. 4, I think the differences between the 2 are more subtle than which one is faster. The Apex will feel much more solid in the stutters and Sat pm junk, giving the feeling of plowing through it rather than bouncing along on top of them. The Apex is not going to do as well in the bigger junk or in the powder, where the diffference in weight will seperate them. The Apex is a better high milage cruiser, where the IQ is fun for slamming around. Each will do both nicely, the better machine is going to depend on what the driver's expecting from it?
