Apex XTX

still dont understand how it can handle like a 121 (meaning thats the amount on the hard pack) and bridges like a 136 (how can that be, only 121 of its on the ground)

I agree. I don't see it being possible to always handle like a 121".

For example, take the situation where snow conditions are hard enough that under moderate acceleration the rearmost lugs sink all the way into the trail yet the front of the track hasn't fully penetrated. With the XTX in these conditions lugs all the way to the back of the track will actually still be in contact with the snow.

Another situation to consider is where the trail is moguled and some of the time while cornering it is only the front and rear of the track (+ the skis) that are touching the ground.

Essentially at least under certain conditions, steering while accelerating is definitely going to be more like a 144" than a 121".

I still think this is going to make a great crossover sled that will most certainly be the best 4-stroke off-trail/crossover while still handling well on-trail.

I know one group of riders that this would make an excellent sled for. They spend at least 75% of their time riding ungroomed, deep snow Quebec trails. For them in the past Yamaha simply didn't make a sled that was even an option for them. This one is not only an option, but it is probably an ideal option (once the larger aftermarket gas tank and tour buddy are installed and most likely the shocks re-valved...).

For 100% trail riding, while it still might make a good sled for some, I'm convinced there will be some compromises.

there will always be comprimses no matter what the first thing that came to my mind was a apex xtx which i hope they bring back as ATTAK, it would be awsome i was hoping the would just bring out the XTX line... not just for the nytro

I agree, but there are many people who love the Attak with the 136" for lake racing/trail use so I think Yamaha needs to keep offering it. Unfortunately the Attak's 136" isn't long enough to make it a viable crossover so the ultimate offering would be:

- The regular Apex ER for your typical trail riders.
- The Apex RTX with a reinforced suspension (ProActive CK) and aggressive multi-stage shock valving for the very aggressive trail riders.
- The Apex LTX for the lake racer/trail riders.
- The Apex XTX with a reinforced suspension and aggressive multi-stage shock valving (not quite as firm as the RTX, but crossover riders want big bump capabilities) for the crossover riders/deep snow/trail riders

Plus the premium GT option for the regular Apex and LTX focused on the riders who want a premium sled with lots of adjustability for saddle bag trips/trail riding/etc.

REX has it just as I see it.

I wish I had not watched the video's all of a sudden my APEX is not "everything to me"

Well let the dreams and schemes begin.

If no major changes are coming to the chassis I will probably swap out the skid in my RTX. Or at least get the rail extensions and then the revalving. I thijk it would be the awesome platform for me.

Im not overly aggressive, I like to whip it up and get air when I can. But I need the RTX for my weight.

An apex 144" would be perfect for me up in Canada. My ltx with a 1.5 intense was stuck 2 times today as the snow is close to 4 feet on the lake in some places and no tracks but mine.Even my 900 mod was stuck once.I wish I would of took pictures of getting stuck the snow was up to the headlight on both sleds. It was awesome, and the apex wasn't to hard to move and get unstuck.I rode 40 miles on untouched powder today.Great day!

Hey 900; How do you like the 136 intense track? I am just installing one and havn't had a chance to ride it yet. Too bad this track is not available in a 144". It would make an excellent track for the new Apex XTX!!!!

The track is awesome in the powder and the hook up on the hardpacked is awesome compared to the ripsaw. The ripsaw would of never made it where I was yesterday. You will lose a bunch of topend after installing the intense track.I still got my sled up to 100mph gps in 1/4 mile.
