After bending up my Lower A arm on the very first ride on my new 2021 LTX-SE, I decided it would be a good opportunity to put in the Mainway greaseable bushings. Good thing, the upper, Stock bushings, already had corrosion in them, 200 mi on a brand new machine, inexcusable.
When I removed the upper A arm I took it to the vice to clean up the bores, when tipping it down, about 3 shot glasses worth of rusty water came out of the tubes. Guys, the upper end of these arms are wide open to a hollow tube, the arm is almost always pointed 'down', when snow unavoidably gets in there and melts the water runs down and sits happily at the threads of the Heim joint that is the upper ball joint, not Optimal. I squirted some oil in it and sealed it up with some Right Stuff.
Can't imagine what a whole summer of water sitting in those tubes would do.
