Friends Attak quit on him going across the lake. Fuel pump was not running. Towed it home. Found a mouse nest by the fuel pump and wires chewed. Fixed wires but only got 3 VDC at the connector. Found fuel pump relay was the culprit. Swapped in a parts store relay and now has 12 VDC at the connector but fuel pump won't turn on. Swapped in the relay next to it and has 12 VDC but again no pump. Put 12 VDC to the pump and it works but sounds odd. Any ideas?

if it sounds odd, odds are the impeller or pump motor are bad.

Update - Has 12 VDC with the fuel pump connector disconnected and 0 VDC with it connected.

That was my thought. He measures 1.1 Ohms on the fuel pump connections. My initial though was that was not right.

never ohm checked a fuel pump like that but sounds off to me as well. as it quit while running, on cars/trucks that means the pump is toast. had it happen on wr250 as i got to work and on one of my old trucks was every 5 years like clockwork.

Found a used pump locally - still doesn't work.

Another friend had an Apex of the same vintage. He bought it non running. We figured out it was a bad ECU. Tried his old ECU in my Attak and the fuel pump didn't work. Swapped in a used ECU and he was good. Maybe it's a bad ECU? Anybody have one for sale?

barn of parts would be my go to guy for this unless you find some one parting out an apex or attack in the classifieds.
