Where is the best place to mount ice scratchers? 07 Attak. I was thinking about using the bolt hole right behind the front idler wheels but unless it throws snow straight up looks like it won't hit the coolers very well. Maybe I should consider a BOP ski mount kit? I do not have a rear cooler.

Although my Apex is an XTX, that is where I mounted my scratchers. As for hitting the front cooler, once the scratchers throw snow/ice into track, I would think the rotation of the track would handle the rest.

That is where I had them on my Attak. Worked fine but I did have the rear cooler.

I mounted them on the skis of my Apex LTX with Travis' (Barn o Parts) mounting brackets. They throw up a ton.

X2 BoP has a nice kit for mounting them to the skis.
Before the kit was available I made my own ski mount kit.

I have the cable scratchers on the skid, rails works good, doesn’t the ski scratchers make steering kinda funky? Sometimes I find it hard to steer as it is in the right conditions.worst scratchers I ever had was the Yamaha A arm ones, maybe one day Yamaha will repay me for those haha

Thanks for all the replies guys. I think I am going to try the ski location using the BOP mount.

What are you trying to do with scratchers? cool the engine or cool the hyfax's? different location's do different things.Where is the best place to mount ice scratchers? 07 Attak. Regardless of location, won't they effectively improve both?

Yes! I mainly use mine for those fresh am frozen solid groomed trails that like to heat Hyfax. I can drop them in am and have a skid full of snow on a frozen hard packed trail. I have 6k mile on my Duponts, still have many miles left!Regardless of location, won't they effectively improve both?

That's when I use mine too. Also in low snow conditions, which seems to be the norm lately. I have 3k on my duponts. I've ran some plowed fire roads pretty fast and was tool lazy to drop the scratchers. They have some life left but I have the skid out so I've got a new set to put on. Should be good for at least another 3k.

No, in front of skid will cool the hyfax's, back of skid will cool the rear cooler which cool's engine.Regardless of location, won't they effectively improve both?
