Average miles on a studded track?

In my post above I forgot to mention I am running an Ice Ripper track this year. About 2000 miles on so far, all 256 tire like studs are still there, and if some do come out, they will not put a hole through my heat exchanger. Ice Ripper is not good for dragging someone on Ice, but I have found them to be good on icy corners and braking.

108 down the middle, 5900 miles and I noticed some slight ratcheting. I'll spell it out - THIS SITE ROCKS. Thank you ladies and gentlemen. Hope to get from 0 - 1,000 more miles this year after replacing a cracked/broken slide rail as we speak and many more, thanks to you guys, miles (bearings etc.) without this machine ever leaving me stranded. I'll keep the off camber torque rushes to a minimum and baby this thing till I get a new one. Enough is enough. Sled's trick and will make someone less hard core very happy, but Track, Skid, Shocks, junk steel non rebuildable junk, etc. etc. and that spells kick in the #*$&@ if I ever was the reason for killing a good time on a killer tour. Buy em, maintain em, and beat the living snot out of em and take a beating when you sell/trade em. Life's short, part with it, the cash that is!

I just change my track out running 144 studs and got 2650 miles out of it, I probable could have went more but it started tearing in spots.

That is my biggest concern right there. I can not afford to be replacing my track once or twice a season, especially if the snow is good. That is way to much money and work to go through. Especially with having to restud the new track.

Has anyone put some serious miles on the Ice Ripper? I really like to get on the throttle hard, so I am guessing I am hard on the track. I sure will miss the benefits of studs though!

I have been studding my sleds for 30 years. Then I ran the origonal track on my 04 for two years w/o studs. Last year, I darn near lost it in a slide on late season ice. This year, I put on an Ice Ripper. I have ~ 1500 miles on it and I love it. All the little studs are still in there.
