There are different models that Klim makes. The Arctic Balaclava by Klim by no means needs additional neck warmers on cold days. I just put on quite a few miles in -10f and was very warm on the head and around my neck.
This one is warm enough that I think I will need to find something thinner for this spring as I will have a wet head once we get into the 20's. The majority of my riding is well below that, so it works great and allows me to breath freely. I don't know if the arctic would work well in a full face helmet as it creates it's own breathbox out front. Not sure though.

I've had good luck with black pearl brand.
I've purchased 3 Unwind balaclavas, 1 for my bv2s, one for my open faced HJC and one for my girlfriend.(the most important one, because she hates being cold) They are the best I've ever used. It has been copied by others that look similar, but Unwind is still the best.

- Which one? I have 6
With an open face I use a thin balaclava and a No Fog. Works good even in the cold weather.

I wore a No-Fog for years before I went to a E-shield, and do they work great!

I use the covert when the temps are above 15 degrees and the arctic for colder temps.
The arctic is windproof so your neck never gets cold.

Another vote for a no-fog....that will help keep you neck/chin/nose/cheeks warm.
It won't help keep your temples warm....sounds like that is where you are getting air past the googles.
I got no solution for that....

Thanks for all the replies folks. I have a Klim Arctic on order but it probably won't get here until spring so today I picked up a Klim covert balaclava. Just got in from riding and it's pretty good. The breathing holes are great and it doesn't stick to my face when sucking for breath while riding hard. No more cold cheeks but still a little cool around the temples. Plus it doesn't get wet inside from condensation. It solved 90% of the problem with my 509 goggles and kbc helmet.
On a side note, it was bright and icy today. The 509 black polarized goggles are excellent at cutting out the glare. Better than some high end sunglasses. Definitely worth dealing with some air leakage to keep the goggles.
While shopping for the balaclava, I saw the new Klim glove, forget the name but not the price $279. Nice glove but not that nice.

Check out snowbigdeal.com. They have them. I got my arctic in 3days and just wore it this weekend and it is freaking sweet. I have the covert but this thing is the best, you'll love it.

Unwind balaclava and no fog mask, 509 Sinister Black Ops with Zox Snow X helmet. Switch to yellow lens when snowing or at night.
Ride in -25 no issues. In fact i just put on 1400 km's wearing this setup over a 4 day period.
