In all my years of running sleds I always top up the battery before storage with a 2amp charge, it usually takes about 2 minutes before the green lite comes on because the sleds charging system does a good job keeping it at full charge. Not sure why anyone would want to spend big bucks on these "smart chargers" when you do not need to continuously charge the battery off season. If the battery looses it's charge by snowmobile season it usually means you have something drawing power or it is time for a new battery. Just my 2 cents....which I am saving by not buying a smart charger, lol

The owners manual suggests disconnecting the battery before using this charger. Not sure if that's to protect the sled's electronics, improve the charging process, or both
I think the concern is that the charger can put out about 20 volts in the desulphate mode which could damage the computer or other electronics

I've never had a problem with my ctek chargers on any of my equipment (MUS 3300), mind you if I am running the recondition mode on my MUS 7002, then I have the battery out of the vehicle. IMO the 3300 should never do something to harm the sled, it isn't that powerful of a charger, but is perfect for maintaining and topping off powersports batteries and maintaining automotive batteries too, I have about a dozen of them, everything with a battery has one hooked up when not in use. Haven't dealt with a dead battery in a long time!

A agm battery only looses about a percent per month.
Charging can do more harm then good.

Have been using a battery tender Jr on my 06 apex since 06. I hook it up at the end of the season and it stays hooked up until the season begins again. Still using that original battery now and it still works like new. Every year I'm amazed at how well this battery has lasted
