i have a o5 vector with 4,000 miles on it, i use a battery tender during the off season, but does anybody have any idea how long the battery should last? hate to go on a trip and have the die somewhere out on the trail.

Not real sure, three years mabye. I just replaced my original battery in 05 Rage this week. It was fine in April and used a trickle charger twice in the off season as soon as the cold weather hit my battery was gone it was at 2amps.

useing a battery tender all summer I am still useing my original battery in my 03 RX1 . It still has good power . 12860 miles I am hopeing it is still good for this year .

Hey Ranger.....

..on my '05 RS Rage, I had a battery tender on the Battery for MOST of both previous Summers-----basically... the Non-riding seasons.... checking the voltage 1-2 times a summer.

I wan't really paying attention to the Voltage this past summer... Figuring the 'tender was taking care of it.,...but just the other week... 4 volts... Sheeeeeeeet.

I did buy an Interstate battery & feel Sooo much better... I'll suggest ya pay attention to voltages or have it checked and if it's less than 9-10 v... think about spending a little $$...

Getting stuck on the trail is not alotta fun with no way of "jumpin' it"...

;)!

good luck

I've been wondering how long they last myself. Mine is a little over 3 years old. Never been unhooked, never been charged, never checked. It sat all summer once again and cranked up on it's own. Knock on wood.

same as 2morstrokes no problums -45 couple times last winter started up sat all summer started up last night never checked it once had it out couple times to grease the front end works fine

Mine started slowly giving out the second winter. Would die in extremely cold weather -30 c or lower. Not wanting to get stuck I'm trying a dry cell Odyssey Extreme battery this season. Supposedly will hold a charge for two years, and is totally vibration resistant. So far so good this season, but the really cold temps haven't hit yet. Will report at end of season the good or the bad, or sooner in case of the bad.
