Hey folks, so this fall I went to start my 2014 Nytro, and the battery acted as if it was dead. A month before that, it turned over, and fired right up no problem.
So a few weeks ago I pulled the battery, and stuck it on the charger. Today I put it back in the sled, rode it about 4 miles then checked the voltage. When the sled is running it seems to be charging around 14 volts, with the sled off it seems to be at 12.3-12.4 volts. Is that normal? I'm wondering if the battery is shot or if there's an issue somewhere else.

Totally normal readings.
Battery is gonna be 4 years old though. And since it has gone dead once, it'll never be the same.

12.3 volts is a weak battery. Fully charged should be 12.7 to 13.0. I'd charge it up fully and then load test it, if it fails therein lies your problem.

Thanks guys, I'm not sure how to load test it.. but I did check for parasitic loss. I put my tester on 200 milliamps, and saw a loss of 00.1 which I'm going to guess is fine. Battery after an hour dropped to 12.17 volts with the positive cable not hooked up. I'm going to say it needs a battery. Dennis kirk has a decent looking gel battery, any of you guys try a gel battery? I guess they last longer.

Harbor freight has a really cheap load tester. Just content leads to terminals and hit the switch for a certain period of time as it applies a 100 amp load. You watch the gage to see how the voltage drops during this application.

I took the battery into Yamaha today, had them test it, and it tested fine. Starting to think the starter solenoid is bad, all it wanted to do is click. Battery had 12.3 volts when I tried. Even with that low of voltage it should try to turn over.

12.3 isn't low, so yes it should have spun right over, not just try to.

12.3 v is less than 50‰ for typical 12 volt battery. Full charge is 12.7 to 13.0 volts. I agree it still should spin over though. Although sometimes electrical systems get finicky the lower the voltage drops.

I'm going to try a new battery first. It won't hold more than 12.3 volts. I shut the charger off, put my tester on it, and I'm only seeing 12.3.. even the dealer said I should see 12.6-13 volts fully charged.

Ok, yeah if it won't take over 12.3, it's fubar.
Buy a new one & ride on.

Agree, just replaced the original battery in my Phazer as it Would just click the starter once or twice before turning over slowly. It would take a charge but would drop to 12.2v over a 24h period. New battery spins her over noticeably quicker and still shows 12.6-12.8v after a 24h period. If you have a decent meter that refreshes quickly you can check the cranking voltage, anything less than 9.5v while cranking = bad battery or poor connections.
