Belt Grenade

don;'t think anyone is on here just bitching. this is very unusual and i think this is why so many are interested to find out whats going on. Yamaha sleds are not known to have belt issues and the only thing that has changed are the clutches on the winder so it stands to reason that somewhere in these clutches is the problem. just because the sled is 180hp doesn't mean the belt shouldn't last 5000 km + like all of the other yamaha sleds out there

Anyone with issues, call Yamaha: 1-800-962-7926.

The more people that report this issue, the more resources they will dedicate to resolving it!!

Thanks.

NOS, do you think we would benefit by taking more than .070 inches out of the spring pocket?

No, .070" is needed....anymore than that and you are just removing more material.

I'm wondering if terry has tested the red/white on different positions such as 0/1 0/2 and or 9/1

Yes , all positions....same outcome, loss of top end.

curious as to why more people have not tried using the button secondary clutch off a nytro/viper.

I have to find out what helix angles worked as I have a ton of the old helix's. Thinking about swapping both clutches and testing Viper clutches .

To many people with big miles and zero belt problems this is getting way out of hand! Guy just rode over 2 thousand miles zero belt problems, Ben running 150mph zero belt problems, OSP say secondary clutch is great zero problems, I have ran over 1000 miles and did countless top speed runs over 124 mph zero belt problems!

You can't just go by that....Ben is regeared, different track, different drivers and so forth... Some of these guys aren't topping out at 126-130mph like I or a couple others are.
If you are hitting 124 mph and no coil-binding, no belt problems....then let me shake your hand, cause you are the first to achieve this.

Ben did a lot of testing with stock clutches and track zero problems. Yes I have video of 124 mph and still on factory stock belt. Wrap still at 3/3. What about the dealers posting they have seen zero problems? Buy my count what we have like 3 to 5 guys with problems? The one person said he was on gas and brake at the same time?
