Belt Squeal

I have found this on new belt's and usualy after a few miles for breakin it will stop. If it does not stop or you don't want to listen to it go to the Yamaha dealer and get the .5 washer's (three required) for the three small bolt's on the back side ot the driven clutch and exchange them with the 1.0 washer's that it came with. this will open up the driven clutch a small amount and then can be swaped back after some wear. Center to center can be a factor but in most cases it is not. I have found that a lot of dealer's don't know about the .5 washer's but they do make them and they will find them if they look. Otherwise all other thing's mentioned are good idea's as well. kviper

there are 3 bolts. 2 in the front of the motor. one mount is next to the clutch on the inside of the frame. the other is in the front is on the opposit side of the motor on the inside of the frame. the last one is on the rear of the motor. There is a long bolt that travels through the frames and through the motor. The ends are on the outside of the frame just in front of the secondary clutch and then behind the brake disc. you will need to remove the air box and I think the battery tray to get at the front motor mounts. I think I only had to remove the secondary to get at the rear bolt.

So you would loosen all these bolts and move the motor to correct for offset, right. This is not necessary for clutch spacing (distance) rather it is for alignment correct?
