Bent something up front... Tekvest works!

Ride it, bend it back at the end of the year and sell it. Youll be taking a hit anyway might as well just buy an 2010. There would be no way id spend that type of money to fix a sled when we have ebay to get rid of them with.

I'm certainly thinking about selling it next year, however it will most likely NOT be a Yamaha.
He!! YEZZZZ im thinkin Polaris???

man I didnt want to post this ealier cause I didnt want to jinks me, but I've hit 3 stumps, one on a lake and 2 in powder..one hit was so hard it flip the sled and me...(I wear a tekvest also) anyways nothing bent so far

Too bad about the sled...But good that you have the Tekvest on. I've seen it save ribs, chest bones, collar bones, even prevented a burn (interesting story).

I don't ride without one.

That is the way I was thinking too. I found some deep snow on a side of a lake and the beavers had been in there. The bars would occasionally rip out of my hands but that is all. I was going much faster though as I was carving and playing.

I can really see how the a arm bent, not sure how it bent going that slow but I will give it that. I can not see how a frame would bend as a result.

Is this just easy to do on this sled or easy on all sleds?

I think there is a serious design flaw in all of the FX Nytros, it's too easy to tweak the front suspension.

While Yamaha and their Dealers will most likely state that this is internet hype or we are abusing the sleds, there seems to be too many examples of sub frame "issues" on this sled already. Does Yammy think we'd spend upwards of $13000 on a sled just to abuse it and hope to get it warrantied? I think not.

He hit an unmovable object with a ski with enough force to throw him over the handlebars. Do you honestly think that ANY sled is going to take that kind of abuse without being tweaked? I mean honestly? Good grief. My buddy caught a railroad tie with just a bolt going slow speed last year with his Doo. Bam whole front end tweaked. Another hooked a tree going slow on his xp bent the a-arms all to crap. Guess Doo should step up to the plate huh? These things happen. Lets not get ridiculous here.

I bent mine all up too on the right side. Dealer wouldn't warranty anything. Best fix I did was have a couple beer wrapped a 6' sling around the spindle and hooked that to the ball of my truck. Slapped my sled in reverse and gave a couple of tweaks that way. It's back to normal and feels great riding it again. Still hitting 109 on gps!

Everyone wants a lighter sled.... This is what happens.. Deal with it and move on people... Fix it and move on. That is one reason I don't venture off into places you are not familiar with.. It could happen... It's under the snow, you can't see it..

You seem very unsympathetic to our plight or you're reaching out in a way we just don't understand.

Glad your not hurt!

I was freaked out on my Apex today. Just went out for a little run on the river. I had replaced the broken brace on the suspension and put a new O ring in the bottom of the oil resevoir. Switched the ski's over and took a run. Hit a Jump I never seen until too late. LoL I went around 30 feet before comming down on the left ski. I think the Nytro handles the jumps much better because of the seating position. Although when the back collapses completely and you bounce like I did today on the Apex you get more nervous on an Nytro comming down on the ski's. I felt like I liked the Nytro better.
The Nytro is far weaker up front than an Apex. I can tell you I took out 5" trees with the A arms on my Apex GT. I've flipped the Apex LTX-GT twice and my friend did once. No damage except the stickers broke, a few plastic windshield screws broke, a reflector and a little plastic knob thats not too important. Bent in my oil res but it's OK still. The Apex is tough! Handwarmers work better and it goes faster. I like the XTX better! Its more fun driving. Less chance of getting stuck. Great crossing roads. Great for drag racing buddies. Etc Etc Etc. I still love the Apex but its too heavy and you can feel it.

Got it partially bent back. The skis are at least parallel and not dog walking. The camber is way off and the castor is still bent back. One thing I notice though is that with the camber the way it is, the machine turns on a dime. Is it possible to change or adjust the camber on these things?

Yep, just hit a curb square on so both spindles bend equally! :tg:

Seriously, I don't think there's an adjustment to adjust the camber. Perhaps trade for an 08 Nytro, that was one of the things Yammy changed from last year due to several complaints of twitchy nervous handling.

They did change the camber with a shorter upper a-arm. Caster was changed as was the trail, and the steering tabs on the spindle were moved as well. This is from 08-09.
