Bent Spindle

Damn, that's crazy then. Was the bolt bent too? How about the bottom rib?

I'm glad you said that. The bolt is bent. I wouldn't have thought it.

Steeler Jim, it looks like you have the first set up, not the updated one where it goes through 2 parts of the spindle not just the top! Is that what I'm seeing?

I wouldn't look for stronger spindles then. Just get a replacement and get updated parts from Peter for your a arm kit. Will require longer bolts and extra spacers. I posted a pic up on the first page of the newer setup.

I saw that. Thank you. I hope Peter gets back to me so I can get this thing fixed up.

No. Chautauqua, Ny. A couple crappy mudholes

The original kits did not have a spacer between the top 2 webs of the spindle. I decided to add the spacer and use a longer bolt after someone contacted me about bending the top of the spindle. I am still running the original version on my personal sled without incident.

Don't hit anything hard Pete. I know you ride in the deep stuff. Its a good idea for the trail rider to go with the spacer and longer bolt.

Never good to hit anything hard. Don't kid yourself. Deep snow has just as many surprises lurking underneath. My last hard hit was a tree at 25 mph, just inboard of the right ski. Took out both an upper and lower A arm, but amazingly the subframe was not bent. Still running the same subframe.
