I have seen to misplaced it, I might have left it with the snowmobile which is at storage for now. I will try to go there tomorrow and get it. I hate loosing stuff
I want to say it is called silver brite but not positive i will repost. It was the best stuff I have ever used, This was the first time i have ever polished my alum. on my sled in two years and it almost looks as good as when i bought it. The alum. was in bad shape when i did it and now it is 1000% better... I will also try and post a pic of it tomorrow if not thursday I have parent teacher conferences tomorrow so it might be a late night!!

bluebyyou,
That tunnel looks sick! I guess you must have put some serious elbow grease into that machine. That just looks sweet!

Thank you. And yes I had alot of time in that tunnel. You really have to stay on it throughout the season. I pretty much polished it after every weekend of riding...BBY

BlueByYou2000-- on your Boss seat did you use all the snaps?
I picked up a used sled with the same seat and old owner only used three snaps per side. Bottom front 2 and rear 1. Is there room too rivit/bolt the snaps along the tank cowl ?

I have used alot of them and could get a good shine from most, BUT I used ? Speedy Polish and it uses some carnuba wax and the sled STAYS SHiny much longer. I will go out in the shed tonight and look it up.

BlueByYou has the right idea. Wetsanding working up to a very fine grit 4000 is good stuff to finish with. I have almost 40 hours in polishing my sled. IT is SICK. Many people made comments of that note at the last Muni ride.
I started w/ a 1200 grit and worked to the 4000. Then many hours w/ jewlers rouge then a good chrome polish.
Once you smooth out the pours in the alum you will then get the mirror finish you are looking for. It takes lots and lots of time
Many beers and cigars.

I always had my big rigs wheels polished (cut) by a side grinder first if you do not do this first your spinning your wheels as the hand work you are using does not remove enough material any truck detail shop has a wheel buffer that could get you done for under 25 bucks.
I always used blue magic to touch them up and then a quick coat of HP or Honda Polish keeps you dialed in.

I have polished every tunnel on all the sleds Ive owned and always start by wet sanding first. 500 grit, then 2000 grit then 4000 grit wet sand paper. This is done all in the long direction, avoid swirling your sandpaper. Then Mother, Wizards alum polish are my personal favs.
