If my memory is correct, there are 4 to remove that hold the center cover on for the belly pan. I was trying to find a picture. If you have a actual Yamaha one, the 4 bottom holes would line up there.

Isn't there instructions on how to install the Yamaha skidplate ? I'm almost certain that you have to slightly open up the 4 stock skidplate holes with a recommended size drill bit, apply the inserts, and then mount the Yamaha accesory skidplate over the stock plate. The supplied hardware when installed cause the inserts to mushroom and secure themselves in the frame. The last part is to drill 2 holes in the plastic nose of the sled near the front bumper to secure the front of the skidplate.

on the float plate which I am sure mounts the same, you need to pull out those four plastic push clips and then drill holes in the side panels where the holes on the factory skid plate line up. Then you just have like fender clip type nuts that go over the tabs on the frame where the plastic clips use to go though. Line it all up and just put the screws in and tighten it all up and you are good to go for that part.
These things go over the tabs on the frame... works pretty slick.

OK, thanks guys, that definitely clears things up. I was actually just installing what Yamaha calls the "Protector" plate which is just the small skid plate that covers the bottom of the block but I do have the larger skid plate on order as well.
I'll call the dealer to see if the skid plate comes with the mounting hardware because it sounds like the larger skid plate mounts to the same holes as this protector plate and uses new hardware.

All FX Nytro sleds come with a stock plate to protect the underside, didn't know there was another besides the accessory skidplate. The stock plate is Black and is attached with 4 screws, and one plastic push pin in the nose of the sled near the area where the a arms mount behind the frame. If your sled didn't come with the factory plate already installed, I'd be asking why.

Quick change of plans. Yamaha is back ordered on the skid plate until the end of the month.
I called SPG and they are sending me out their float plate which also happens to include all of the hardware that I need to install this stock protector plate. Problem solved

It did come with it. Apparently there's a rock somewhere in the Utah backcountry that thought my sled didn't need it.
