best ways to gain speed?

    I'd like to add some speed to the kids srx just wondered what everyone likes, and how much speed it adds

    zip tie governor spring closed almost doubles speed. Can put smaller gear in it also

    seems like that would over rev engine. wonder how many rpms they can take?

    Honda works. I just used the Yamaha because it looks totally stock.

    I swapped out the 120cc in my son's Mini-Z with a 212cc engine from Harbor Freight. It's essentially a Honda clone for only around $100. But since these sleds use a slip-clutch off the engine's drive shaft, the speed is directly correlated to the engine RPM. So to get more speed, you have to increase engine RPM, change gearing, or both. I opted for both ... But that's mostly because he blew up the stock motor. No governor & over-rev = bad.
