That is the Project Hurricane sled. 94 Mach Z Chassis with Yamaha power. Not sure of any other details besides it makes silly power.

HP turbo RX1 motor

This is RX1 with special turbo and header plus other trick parts and it dead reliable HP even running leaner A/R it made corrected 552 HP
It has over 50 dyno runs and better get Dave to tell you the rest about it.
Congrats to Hurricane for all his hard work and he knows how to make big HP reliable!

Well to tell you the truth, most of this stuff on this sled is all one off parts.

This combination is 2 years in the making as last year there where alot of problems with the head moving arouond and cracked blocks.

Aswell the exhaust manifols where redone to help out as well.

This run was done with around 28Ibs of boost and there is room with further tuning to run it to or past 35Ibs, we only stopped at this boost because we knew it would be safe at this hp level for long pulls.

If need be Hurrican will have it back to tune it up more.

Dave is correct as the air/fuel on the big run was still rich at 11.8 to 1.

What engine is in this sled ,a three or four cylinder ? It seems that the rpm's are a bit low for the 4 cyl. unless that's clutch rpm's that it's showing, Ken.

[HURRICANE]

It's a rx1 engine turning 10800 rpm on the tach which is 9000 clutch rpm. I stopped at 32 lbs of boost with the air fuel ratio at 11.8 at 521 corrected horse power with 319 lbs torque. The reason that I stopped turning up the boost was because I felt that the power was reliable and I shouldn't need more power anyway.However,If I need more, the boost set up will make power till 37lbs boost which will add about another 50hp and 30 lbs torque. At the lake I expect the air fuel ratio to go to about 12.3 which will also make about another 20 hp. Add it all together and I feel that it's possible to make close to 600 hp out of a 1000 rx1.
