Wow, big numbers! - there must have been a ton of R&D (rebuilds & destruction?) to get to this point. Congrats and good luck getting it hooked!
Is it true, the block and head was built by CPR ???

I have spent all summer sourcing out the best people in the industry to support Project Hurricane. There is a very long list of talented people from across North America that have shared there knowledge and skill with me. The credits will follow closer to the end of the season

The R@D was last year.LOL
It's not pretty when one of these go south on the dyno, there's a lot of smoke and wierd noises.
But with what was learned last year, has enabled this years version to be a ton more durable, as was proven by the 50+ dyno runs that are on this years tight little package.
Again I have to say GOOD JOB DAVE, thats the most Hp I've seen on my dyno.

HURRICANE said:It's a rx1 engine turning 10800 rpm on the tach which is 9000 clutch rpm. I stopped at 32 lbs of boost with the air fuel ratio at 11.8 at 521 corrected horse power with 319 lbs torque. The reason that I stopped turning up the boost was because I felt that the power was reliable and I shouldn't need more power anyway. However,If I need more, the boost set up will make power till 37lbs boost which will add about another 50hp and 30 lbs torque. At the lake I expect the air fuel ratio to go to about 12.3 which will also make about another 20 hp. Add it all together and I feel that it's possible to make close to 600 hp out of a 1000 rx1.![]()
Good job, Crazy power, but I would like to see the numbers vs engine rpm not driveshaft rpm this drastically affects the readings.
I know this because I have to pull rpm off of pulleys on some cars and if it don't do the ratio offset the torque numbers are off which in turn affects HP numbers.
I know you know this also, but for the masses The dyno measures torque then calculates hp with this formula, Torque X RPM / 5252 = HP.
How much does the Air filter chop off I see you didn't run one on the dyno.

Well Ted,My concern is not so much what the crank is doing but what the PTO is doing as thats what's hooked up to the clutch. I'm awaire of the formulation,in fact, if I was so inclined, I could reformulate the #'s to read 541 hp AT THE PTO ( actual Horse Power)

Ted please school me on what you're talking about with rpm vs tq.
I thought, if the clutch is going 9000rpm, the motor is going 10800. Thus the torque readings for clutch is whatever it says, and engine torque needs to be divided by the gear reduction to find the 10800 rpm torque of the motor itself? HP stays the same regardless?

Tq. will be higher at the clutch because it it geared down. Glad Ted brought it up. I didn't want to say anything but 28 lbs boost running rich and 520+ HP does not seem realistic, and I have spent a whole lot of time dynoing engines as has Ted. 420 HP would be a little more realistic. 140 stock HP + 280 of boost dialed properly = 420 HP which is still excellent. The math just did not add up.
