So I bought a 1 year old slightly used 7X18 Blizzard inline trailer about a week ago (private sale), Paid more than I wanted to but the trailer is mint and seems to be well made. I noticed that the roof vent was missing the knob to open and close it so I ask the guy where it was and he says he never used it and for all he knows never got one. I figured no big deal , I mean how hard could it be to buy a replacement knob right? Wrong!!!
Called Joe up in Tilton, NH which is where the guy bought it from and asked if I could buy one, he says it a hard item to come buy and he didn't have any, may have to go after market. Now Joe is a good guy and this is not a knock on him, I bought it used and Joe owes me nothing. I tell Joe if he can get one and bring it to the grass drags I'd buy it from him (closer for me), didn't sound like that was going to happen so I decide to call Blizzard directly. I get Michelle on the phone (find out later in the conversation that she is the owner) and ask If I could buy a knob, she says she doesn't have them and I'd have to buy the whole vent. Really! Didn't even ask how much that was going to be, I don't want to buy a vent just a damn knob! So now I'm losing my patience because she is being somewhat of a smartass so I ask her why, with all the trailers they sell, can't they ask their vendor for some extra knobs to which she replies that she changes them every 2-3 years and that I'm the only one in three years to ask for one. Really??? Now thats great customer service there guys. Almost 11K for this trailer new (I know they are way overpriced) and good luck on finding parts!
So thought I'd share this w/ all you guys who may be in the market for a trailer, do what you want but like a I told Michelle right before I hung up

Try looking at McMaster Carr's website. They have hundreds of knobs, you may get lucky. I use them often for hard to find items.

What about a camper place , you should be able to get one there same type of vent , that's where I would have gone to first , it's like a $3 part

The vent is a 20 dollar item! Just replaced one! Crank for the vent is hard to find except RV Camper parts counters. Vents are easier almost everyone stocks them.
I'm not surprized that the trailer manufacture does not have them. That is the way of the world now. You buy the whole unit not parts for it. They do not make the vent it is a standard unit they buy from a jobber. Should they carry parts for it? Would be nice but like I say I'm not surprized they don't
Broke a part in my old trucks manual locking hub, dealer does not have it you have to buy a new hub. No parts break down for the hub just a unit replacement number and the list goes on!

I feel your pain but have to say im not suprised try to buy just the broken piece of plastic for your headlight pod when you roll a apex. or even worse I had a belt blow on my 07 and it took out the shaft seal on the reduction gear attached to the motor while on a trip. limped it back and called around only to find out yamaha dont have a part number for just the seal just the whole outer housing with the seal for something like $250.00 or something like that. in the end pats yamaha found me a used seal and a local garage put it in in eagleriver. but 250 for a $12 seal come on yamaha.
