Went riding yesterday and noticed one of my tail lights was out and my brake lights were not working. By the end of the day all my tail lights were out. Checked it out today and noticed the connection in the back by the tail lights was melted together. I routed the wires over the supplied heat shield. Obviously this was not enough. Looks like I will be calling Boss on Monday.
If you own a BOSS seat, you'd best check this out.

Boss is trying to make this seat work. It is the most difficult seat ever, why do you think no one else makes it. I personally couldnt care less about the tail light but you do so they will take care of it. Im sure its an easy fix. They would appreciate the feedback so they can clear it up and Im sure they will stand behind their product.

as long as they are fixing things, they can make the seat look better around the tail light and make the seat fit right around the exhaust shrouds without modification.

Well, I just called BOSS yesterday. Nothing really said about the heat part but they did say they would take my seat back and fix it so it would fit. I guess there was a new staff person who didn't know how to cut the seat material correctly. That is why the 1st batch that went out did not fit correctly. They have since fixed this problem. I asked if I could ride the seat for the season 2nd to me not having another to put on and he said that would be fine. And if anything happened to the seat until then, they would replace it under warranty. I thought that was pretty good customer service.
As far as the melted connector, I will probably just cut it out and splice my taillight wires together. Then I will be looking to put something around the wires so they do not melt anymore.

I am going to take my Boss seat and get the whole back end that looks like the bird tail cut off. I'm catching my feet all the time on it when I switch over.
Besides it's just dead weight anyway.
I'll post a pic when I get my exhaust mod done.
