I am in the middle of changing my front end bushings, replacing with the oilites. I thought the bulkhead bushings go in from the front of the bulkhead & from inside the bulkhead for the rear ( nut & bolt head side). There seems to be lots of play between the a-arm ( bushings & plastic caps installed) & the inside of the bulkhead, approx 1/4 of an inch.
Does this seem right?
Don't want to install the bulkhead bushings until I know for certain as once those are in place they are almost impossible to get them out without damaging them!
Hopefully someone can help me out ;)!

ok, got all the rest of the bushings on the a arms, just waiting to find out where the bulkhead ones go. Hopefully someone knows. Its a 2006 Attak.
Thanks.

Ranger, I did mine and replaced them the same way as the factory ones but I do remember Ulmer stating the rear ones could be installed on either the inside or outside, it was your choice.

I also noticed some play but never thought much about it as my stock set up was too and with these bushings being so thin, I never really expected them to take up this slack anyways.

All of flange should face the front

X2. Ulmer told me this would remove excess slack, and it did.

I was able to push the clutch side lower rear bushing in by hand, it was snug but it still could possibly slide out if I installed it from the inside (a-arm side). Being on the nut side the bolt/nut will hold it in place & keep it from moving. These are very thin bushings & can be damaged quite easily.

You must for some reason had a lot less play between the upper a-arms & the bulkhead than I because the bushings would not have done a thing for mine as I have about a 1/4" play. The bushings are very thin, only 35 thousands of an inch thick, would not made any difference in my sled.

Did you put the stock plastic end caps back on each arm after you installed the oillite bushings?

Even with oillite bushings, you still have to use the stock plastic end caps or there will be the 1/4" slop like you're talking about.

I did put all the plastic caps on the a-arm ends & I still have 1/4 play. The bottom a-arms are nice and snug though.

Mine are the exact same Ranger, and it's nothing I am concerned about plus my gut tells me it was this way when the sled was brand new anyways?

I also now have Travis's Bulkhead saver kit on mine so now I am even les concerned about future wear/movement.
