First off I am a newbie, so bare with me. I have only been riding for about 6 months and was loving every minute on my 97 SRX mountain 151 track, until I bought a 2004 rx1 mountain, 151 track. Loved everything about the RX1 until i got it into some deep powder. I cant haul the damn thing over. It sits higher than my SRX and the ski stance is like 3 inches narrower, so I figured the powder would be a snap. It has mountain madd skis, which seem twitchy as hell on the trail. The front suspension has titanium springs but retained the stock adjustment. The rear suspension is stock and the shocks are set to the softest setting. A buddy of mine has the 2005 Rx1 and when i press on his rear suspension it is very easy to push down and pull up, lots of suspension travel. Mine feels like a rock, no play at all. I know they have different suspensions but mine is really stiff !!! I cant pull the sled over, am I crazy or what pls help. So I guess these are my questions.

Does the rear suspension play any role in turning the sled ??
If so does the 2004 rx1 have a poor rear suspension?
Would the titanium springs be causing this problem ?
Do the front springs have to be set softer because they are titanium?
Can you recomend the best rear skid and suspension for mountain riding?
The sled has a raised handle bar, does that not make the skis easier to turn ?

First of all I have the same suspension as you. Yes the suspension on the 04 is hard but it is tuff at the same time. You may have a bunch of ice built up preventing the steering linkage from moving. I had this problem until I put some air filter material in the vents to prevent snow from coming in and forming the ice in the first place. Talk to a moderator to move this to the mountain forum you posted in the wrong place.
