With the Canadian government taking a hard stance in response to United States trade policies it appears that the Risk Factor in BRP financial information that was dated 2023 and still being used will certainly have the need to be updated as sales in the USA will no doubt suffer. If I was a current investor ( which Iam not ) I would be very concerned with BRP ability to turn profits if things don’t change where they are currently headed… Its a very good chance that their products will not be affordable in USA… So this fact is even more a good reason for Arctic Cat to return even better than before and a great time for successful rebirth .. Go Cat go ….

That door swings both ways. Canada accounts for 42% of sales of snowmobiles across manufacturers. Its hard for it to be a complete layup for AC as they will face rising supply chain costs and the loss of some part of the Canadian market.
Ontario Drive and Gear is a Canadian company as well. It is hard to predict what the impact will be of manufacturing in the US but paying taxes/taking profits in Canada. Also, ODG is a manufacturer themselves. They already make the argo machines maybe they can shift some capacity north of the border to offset some tariff impacts (will take at least a year).
For BRP they just got their loan extended - stabilizing their finances and they will not face the same rising costs in the supply chain. BRP will have to deal with challenged sales in the US. But sales into northern europe, eastern europe, south america, etc will belong almost exclusively to BRP as they won't have to deal with recipricol tariffs. It won't make up for the drop in US sales across all of BRPs product lines but they have been expanding sales into other markets faster than the other manufactuers so maybe it won't hurt so bad in the long run.
The best thing for everyone would be for the tariffs to simply go away.

I'm sure they will go away as soon as the other countries agree to remove their tariffs on imported USA goods.

Not too many countries are bending to Trump currently.

I believe that is what Trump wants us to believe. I really don't put any merit in what he says, his track record for telling the truth is pretty dismal. Some media outlets say what he says and others say something totally different.

I’m not going down this road. Political talk on these forums just ruins the experience of coming here.
I am just glad the 998t is still available.

Does anyone know if the center atac shock gets powered up on all atac models? or just the EXT for now?

One thing I really feel good about is eps on the new chassis, maybe that means cat already has plans on paper to add a big rip roaring turbo 4 stroke and delete the pro-cross.

All atac models get four pos shocks
Apparently cat was working on a 4st twin for the catalyst chassis. Wonder how that will workout. Certainly going to be down on power compared to the 998 if they try to make a common motor for the sxs market.
Can't go over 1k cc.with forced induction for it to be class 2. Doos 900 is there common motor and that goes into jetskis, sxs, and sleds.

My former post on BRP, Canada, and Cat was never meant to be negative or destructive or political as everyone is more than entitled to their own opinions and comments and feedback is always welcome no matter if I agree or don’t agree … What makes our country great is the ability to have a open discussion with comments and opinions that sometimes don’t align with our own beliefs or knowledge. This is free speech and people should not take disagreeing personally and value others opinions formed from different beliefs.. Even when I don’t agree I still see value and would never hold it against them… People today seem to be too uptight, wrapped in stress, and beliefs formed more from others than learning on their own.. Government will never do for you what you can do better for yourself.. Greed seems to be the driving force behind most problems as we follow the money trail.. Almost all politicians only care about their self interest and we the people have allowed them way too much freedoms as they bend the rules and laws set up many years ago.. And this problem is the same in all government’s around the world.. Now this same Greed has country’s such as Canada and United States fighting over trade and this if it keeps going will effect the snowmobile industry…
