Former Yamaha sleds:
2004 Venture 600 2002 SX Viper 700
1997 Vmax 600 SX 1994 Vmax 600 1989 Exciter
1986 Vmax 540 1986 Phaser 1981 SRX 440
Not sure if you know but in a drag race lower ET wins. Now if your talking a radar run the doo would have won but I think we know neither of these machines were topped out in 660 feetThe SRX has Yamaha clutches among a few other things which could have made a difference at the finish line, but we will never know now will we, 2021 old forge shoot out is now over for this year, and the results has the Mach Z in the winner circle.

What “guys” are you talking about? It’s not a free for all. The same driver drove every sled in every class. Sleds are provided by the manufacturer.
I find this hilarious, all the smack talk from the winder guy's about the Mach Z before the old forge shoot out yet not one SRX showed up, I don't think this shoot out is meaningless its been put on for a long time, alot of magazine people that cover the snowmobile world gather info here and post results in their magazine, fact of the matter is the Mach Z is no joke, and when Doo figures out how to keep the skis on the ground it will even be faster, Poo didn't show up either but this shoot out was all about the stock SRX/ T Cat VS the Mach Z, so seeing with your eyes and not your ears the Winder guys copped out and hid, at least the T CAT guys showed.

Yes I have taken a good ride on a winder, first... it just felt like walmart put it together is how best I can explain it, remember this is Yamaha's a high end flagship sled, not saying its not well built just my first impressions, my knee's were hard against the cab and that bothered me as I rode it, seat position was good rider forward gave you a nice sitting position other than the knee thing, by far the cheapest gauge package going and why would they put the key switch in that awkward spot on the gauge pod, I did not notice much steam on the windshield when I put her in the deep stuff like it did with the viper, steering was ok but tracked abit they all do, some worst then others, rear suspension rode nice, big improvement over my Apex for sure but again it just looked cheap with those plastic wheels, power was all pure Yamaha, almost sucked the wind out of you, couldn't imagine a maxed tune winder SRX, finally.. its the engine that is attractive in this sled, while the procross rides and handles nice it does not deserve this Yamaha engine, Yamaha could have designed a cutting edge chassis for this engine they had the power to source the proper people to build it in house, but the new bean counters at Yamaha seen different and it is what it is now, It bugs me that you guys pay such a high price for your winders only having to settle with problems that should have been fixed long ago.... you askedTrolling again I see. Question for you, have you ever been on a SW? If you have, what didn't you like? Or I'll ask in a different way, what do you like about your Apex over the SW?
I certainly don't hate my old Apex, at least like you appear to hate the SW. I think the Apex was strong in some things over the SW but, I'll take the ride and power of the SW over the Apex any day.

Yep, but at the end of the day the Mach Z was the fastest on the speedo at the end of the 660ft line, not sure what a 1000ft run would have shown though, but to me ETs or not its who crosses the line first, what's clocked highest on the speedo usually wins the raceNot sure if you know but in a drag race lower ET wins. Elapsed time is the time it takes to cover the distance. So you are saying that all that matters is the ET.Yep, but at the end of the day the Mach Z was the fastest on the speedo at the end of the 660ft line, not sure what a 1000ft run would have shown though, but to me ETs or not its who crosses the line first, what's clocked highest on the speedo usually wins the race

In a drag race, ET literally is the objective score that dictates who crossed the line first.

This actually is correct so there is no need to argue who won. The Cat won!In a drag race, ET literally is the objective score that dictates who crossed the line first.
But the numbers show what's about to happen next few weeks in reality.
That Mach will be there....................maaach my words
P.S: Maaach is a Maine saying mixed with Bostonian dialect that means MARK in the King's English

Yamaha didn't have a sled in it cuz there were NO dealers nearby to participate.
We all know they are very far & few between.
Polaris dealer couldn't get their hands on theirs in time.
So blame it on COVID if you want.
The 850 Doo SPANKED them both.
