When I do it I pull the undercarriage. I've looked at pulling it thru the track but the windows aren't big enough. Usually have to do it 3 times a winter and takes a few hours.

How are you doing it?

With some WD-40 and some effort, the track will flex enough to pull the hyfax though the windows. Or you can do like I did ... take a razor blade and carefully cut one set of windows larger so the hyfax fits through easily.

Also helps if you chamfer the sides of the new Hyfax at the rear so that it is easier to get it started through the window next time.

3 times a winter for hyfax? WOW...I'm lucky to replace a set of hyfax in about 3 years.

Re-slider replacement

:yam: I had the same issue with my 07 mtn apex at 1100 km of the first year i put on the Super Hy-fax slider i think they are called, they have strip of teflon down the center. They are a bit costly but worth it,i have 5800 km now no issues and lots of wear left.

I usually just take the skid out, but I've done it so many times that only takes about 2 minutes to remove and maybe 10 to put back in depending on how fast I pump up the shocks. If I leave the skid in then I take a wood dowel and beat the front of the hyfax untill it gets to the track. It will fit through the window, but you can cut it if you want. I pull the hyfax through the window about an inch with a pair of vice grips and some elbow grease. Then I drill a hole in the hyfax, through some parahcute chord through it, make a loop for a handle then leg press them right out. Reinstalling them seems to always be pretty easy as long as you lube the rails.
