Changing to Shorter Track?

I've got an 08 Apex MTX with 162" track. Bad deal on the lake a couple weeks ago, and the rails broke. Not good. Now my track is damaged, along with the shocks as well. I don't need a 162" track. Wondering if I went to a 153, if that would work. Hard to find 162x16 tracks that work okay in Minnesota. They're all too big for lugs.

If I could make the change, what suspensions would be compatible with my sled. Need some suggestions.

you could always go nitro or apex xtx for the rear skid and shrink it to 144" or leave it set back and go 151" track with a driver change.
