Hey guys and girls.
I had my new 2021 ltx gt out for the second trip. Sled works great up till the last night.
Went in the warming hut to have a pop. Left my light on ( which I have done many times ) for like 20 mins. My buddy has always left his on for hours standing around the trail and it never drains the battery.
anyway my sled was dead , so I jumped it and the next stop it still wouldn’t start. Battery is junk.
I checked the charging voltage at idle and I’m only getting 12.2 at the battery where my buddys sidewinder is seeing 14.4.
is there really that much difference in sleds or do I got a problem. Anyone have any input ? Thanks

Something wrong for sure. I would start by checking to see if any connectors have came apart and then do an AC test while running at the stator triple wire plug. The one that plugs into the rectifier/regulator.Hey guys and girls.

Update** thanks for the response
with a new battery installed the charging volts are back at 14.4. Must be a dead short or something like that in the battery. I’m a mechanic don’t know the electron talk.
Admin you can take this down if it’s not useful

Curious what you guys see for voltage on the dash? Mine reads lower then what I actually see directly at the battery. With the sled running my voltage on the display gauge fluctuates from 12.5 up to 14.Something and back down and back up etc. At the battery its constant 14.2-14.3 , with no fluctuation. Not sure if its always done this as I never paid attention to the voltage on the dash.

I think Yuasa has a bunch of bad batteries out there. My SRX with 143kms is stone dead. would not come back after repeated attempts to charge. Warranty replaced with no load test or questions asked.

I see the dash always reading far lower than the voltage at the battery. Typically around 11.1 on the dash when turning the key on. Battery will be like 12.1V.

Yes exactly same here, dash reads about 1-1.2 volts lower with just ignition on. Is your voltage stable on dash with sled idling or does it do like mine and fluctuate from 12-14? I know of one other winder that does like mine but spoke to another guy and he said his doesnt fluctuate more than .2 volts......14.2-14.4I see the dash always reading far lower than the voltage at the battery. I don't think, via the 12v outlet, I've seen below 14v. BUT now I have to look, Not sure how reliable reading the outlet is??

My 12 volt outlet has 14+ as does the battery when sled is running with no fluctuating. It is only on the dash I see the voltage fluctuating.2020 SW - Schumacher BAF-M2 Battery Monitor
