Cheap ski scratchers

Well, that was a waste of time. Tried a couple of stores in Ontario and they are cash and carry only. Also, the SKU number listed on the US site (#1410305) is seven digits, SKU Canada uses a different numbering system (only 6 digits) so I wouldn't know if I were asking for the right part or not.

Any suggestions?

br2an,

If you can find a John Deere part supplier on line - I used part no. H33333 (replaced by A-481088) for mine. If you can find a catalog picture then you can make a judgment if that configuration can work for you. I think that I paid about $3 each.

Spring Specifications online

Found a great site that shows the various type of springs available and their dimensions;

http://www.powellequipmentparts.com/bal ... _teeth.pdf

This store https://www.allpartsstore.com uses the same part numbers, website states they ship to US and Canada, but wouldn't process my online order. I got an email back saying they don't ship to Canada. Will try calling Monday to see what the problem is.

(and sorry for hijacking the thread)

Got them at my Yamaha dealer and love them, but they vibrate the sh$t out of my feet....tried to mount the rail ones but coulnt find a sutible location...

Order is in! Phone in is ok, call the toll free at top of https://www.allpartsstore.com/. I ordered 6 pairs for $12.06 US plus another $20 shipping. Just use part numbers from http://www.powellequipmentparts.com/bal ... _teeth.pdf

By the way, I have 3 machines and will now have a set of ice scratchers for each. Works out to $10 each, including spare springs! The rest of the hardware I already have kicking around in the garage.

Will post a pic or two when I have them installed.

Thanks,

Brian

the uhmw seems to be the hardest to find

You can use uhmw nylon delrin and my new favorite Nylon Molybdenum or nylatron.
Ebay has a lot of scrap stuff you can pick up pretty cheap too
Nylatron is a tradename for a family of nylon plastics, typically filled with molybdenum disulfide lubricant powder. It is used to cast plastic parts for machines, because of its mechanical properties and wear-resistance.

Nylatron is a brand name of DSM Plastics and was originally developed and manufactured by Polypenco.

Nylatron is used in rotary lever actuators where unusual shapes are required. They are also used as heavy-duty caster wheels, normally as a replacement for cast iron or forged steel

I just did my wife's phazer a few days ago and the ones i did in the first of this thread on my apex are holding up well but tips are getting worn down a little. probably replace them or put a little more bend on them this year

I found a Yamaha upper A frame to spindle bolt worked out for me. Good quality and the right length.

ok my question is what is TSC store in canada

There is a store called TSC. there are quite a few in Ontario, at least around Ottawa.

I like this idea, would probably go for the longer bolt instead of drilling into my new skis.

can someone tell me WTH these do, i dont see the purpose

scratch the snow to cause spray to lubricate the sliders is the idea. Mostly in low snow conditions.
