It occured to me the other day that alot of people are spraying all kinds of stuff into their clutches for cleaning them. Here are a few suggestions that might help you out.
*Blow the belt dust out with compressed air do this frequently to avoid build up of residue, which could cause a balance problem.
*Do not use any lubricants as they attract dust like magnets, use Alcohol or Acetone to clean the sheaves with. Hot soapy water is still one of the best ways to clean them. Many of todays fiber bushings can't take or tolorate any lubricant or solvent of any kind. As well they leave residue on the sheaves which will be released as they get warm from the belt, and cause slipage
*Pay attention to the moveable sheave bushings, pins, cam arms & rollers.
*Off the sled disassembled is the best but on the sled is still better than not at all.
Hope this might assists some of you with your clutch servicing needs
