Well, yesterday at the end of a slow day ice fishing on lake winnipeg, of course stayed right till dark, 7km out, started packing up, went to start up my 2009 venture gt and when I turned the key could not hear the fuel injection pump cycle, damn! and got the lovely error code 43. So made some phone calls just in case I could not get her started and through the ice tent over the sled and put the heater on directed towards the relays, after 45 min the code disappeared and it started, thank god!
So what I am wondering is there a updated relay, this has happened about half a dozen times on this sled, gotta love when you cant trust a $12000 machine! Could a low battery also cause this error code?
I am heading out to a more remote lake on Thursday and would like to get this issue resolved, if there is no fix maybe just sell and buy something reliable?

There is an updated relay but from what I have read, there isn't much difference between the two?
Personally, I would buy one and when installing it, put some dielectric grease on the connections as it may help to keep the moisture out?
Had the same problem last week. After warming up the relay it worked. Bought a new relay for about $13 at Wildwood Sports in Winnipeg. I will always carry a spare now.
Drill a hole in the casing of the relay purge the humid air out because it was built in Japan with nitrogen. There is no moisture in nitrogen thats why they use it for tires and seal it up with silicone. Or make a by pass toggle switch in case of emergency.

Not picking up what you mean Sled Dog?
If there is no moisture in Nitrogen, and that is why it is used, how can there be humid air in there?
I assume your thinking the humid air is causing these problems when it's really cold out, which I have heard, but if there is room inside this relay, then won't moisture just come back due to temp fluctuations?
When this relay was made it was made in Japan where the air is humid and in the cold that humid air condenses and freezes end result the relay does not work and no start. The relays are sealed units are they not so this moisture is entrapped when it was built. What I am saying is to drill a hole in the sealed case of the relay blow nitrogen into the relay to purge out and dry out the relay and seal it immediately. There is no moisture in pure nitrogen just nitrogen making it dry and a dry relay can not freeze if it does not freeze it works and your sled starts.

No offense, but your post ran on and was lacking some comma's and brackets and made it difficult to read.

(Fixed it up some below)
"Drill a hole in the casing of the relay, purge the humid air out (because it was built in Japan) with nitrogen. (There is no moisture in nitrogen thats why they use it for tires) and seal it up with silicone, or make a by pass toggle switch in case of emergency."
Yea I get to typing and I try to explain too much detail in one sentence I should of proof read. Thank you!

Bought an extra one, and yamaha is doing research on this relay so today I am bringing in the old one for a new one at no charge. From now on I will always carry a spare
