My friend goes to his cabin in north Saskatchewan over holidays. Every morning had to put charger on battery and propane heater around it to get it started. He had a nytro before and had no problems. He is just a little bummed

But Nytro was broke in? New engines are a little tight, could that be it?

Sounds like it may be a fuel issue, is he using old fuel that was stored at the Cabin?

This is unfortunate to hear. I would think they'd be coming out withs reflash?

I had a statement about a lit stick of dynamite typed but then a thought occurred to me; why don't these engines have a primer bulb? I know fuel injection is supposed to cure the fuel draw issue but wouldn't a primer bulb solve a lot of problems? I used to start two strokes in really cold weather as a kid and loved the primer. I even drove an old Johnson JX 400 sled home using only the primer bulb as the carb had crapped out somehow. Direct injection right into the crankcase made it impossible to modulate engine rpm but it was a blast!

I've been looking into this extensively with my own unit and have very detailed information coming out with air temperature testing all the way down to -42 C. Pay attention to my season's thread http://www.ty4stroke.com/viewtopic.php?t=123311 as i'll be putting the info up there in the coming weeks.

Talked to my dealer today and it's been a huge problem. And another father son with 2 of them that sat on trailer. Both no starts -32. I know when I brought mine home I had a heck of a time starting it. Had to cycle pump a lot. Yamaha told him to put hand over exhaust that it helps..

Just came back from Quebec. Had to jump start the VIPER from my wife's Ski-Doo twice on cold mornings. One was -38F the other was -26F. Disappointed.
