Just realized on my 2018 Viper that I can display a numerical value on the coolant temp. bar at the same time, my question is, I'm normally running in the mid 160's, is that within acceptable temps, or is there cause for concern? I also just installed Dupont Sliders and almost always ride on groomed trails, is there a need for scratchers? Seeking opinions. Thanks in advance.

That is a normal acceptable range. If the temps start going higher towards 200 or more, it would probably be caused from idling too long or insufficient cooling. Scratchers can/will bring the temps back down quickly. I run with scratchers on every sled.

Yes, the temp. sometimes pushes 190 if it's idling too long , but, comes right back down after movement. That is a normal acceptable range. Just for reference, the fan doesn't kick on until around 205*f and off when it's down to around 190*f. Mine tends to run 170-175*f at trail speeds if there is decent cooling.

Good to know, now that I can monitor an actual number instead of just a bar graph, I'll know what range I should be in, thanks.Just for reference, the fan doesn't kick on until around 205*f and off when it's down to around 190*f.
