My flange cracked where the individual head pip's conect to the two in to one section of exhaust (far right pipe). Any one else have this? It is a Apex GT. I May be looking for a used one if any one is parting out an Apex. May need the two in to one section on right side. Going to see if dealer can get Yamaha to help but warranty is done. Thank's. kviper

It has just over 4,000 mi. I would not be able to get a pic till i take it all the way apart and probably won't go any further till next fall unless Yamaha will help. I am starting to get a little pi$$ed. Track was junk at 3,400 mi, Found the drive shaft had a lot of run out causing the vibe's, that i had when i replaced the track, suspect it was that way frome new, driven clutch movable shiev bushing shot at 2,500 and is shot again, electric shock is not responding after last ride and now exhaust. The exhaust part is like $270 list. Thuis is the most trouble i have had with a Yamaha in a long time. kviper

I have probably the same problem. Here's my post from a week or so ago.
My 2006 Attak is sitting at the dealer right now. The last couple rides a couple weeks ago I heard a single "Pop" each time I came to a stop. It sounded like a backfire, but under the sled. I dropped it off at the dealer, they said an exhaust clamp had come loose, and the two pipes had beat themselves to death. $420 in parts, 2 hours labor. Even thought the warranty had run out in November & the sled has 5400 miles, Yamaha agreed to pay for the parts - I have to pay the labor. Still waiting on parts, they are on backorder.
I like my Yamaha, but I've had lots less problems with my SkiDoo.

This is a classic case of why 1 year warranties on sleds are horse #*$&@. One season of riding usually nevers bares too many problems. It's the next two years after that IMO that need the coverage! 3 year minimum should be the standard on all major components...
Don't want to give you the bad news, but I'm on my second set of front exhaust. As per my experience, the front pipes seem to last between 4500/6000 miles. The thickness of these titanium pipes are build for lite weight not for duration. You should ask Yamaha to pinch in the hardware, I don't thing it's normal for this to happen but again better be this than piston or cynlinder.

Well i figured out my electric shock problem. The last time we rode My friend blew a fuse for his acc plug and i must have grabed one of my fuse's and got the one for the shock by mistake. I must have just ran into some bad luck with this sled because for the most part i have had real good luck with my Yami's. A friend had a 600 REV that he had to do a motor at about 1,500 mi along with other issue's. Another friend with a Mach Z went through $1,000 in belt's the first season and actualy could not ride for a week because Doo was out of belt's. He also had all of the other issue's,Fuel pump, reprogram, plug's, Recoil two or three time's. I have not loast any riding time so i guess it is not to bad but just more than i am used to. SRS maybe if they covered youir's they would do mine to. kviper

My dealer just called - the exhaust parts are expected April 23rd, + a couple days to ship to the dealer. I'm sure glad this isn't February! If they do show up as promised, the sled will have been down a total of 6 weeks.

Cause of problem?
Any info on what is causing the pipes to crack?
Is it the heat, or the cooling of the hot pipe by cold snow-too much stress?

To me, it seems the lips is rubbing, and the material is so thin that it goes thru after 4500 miles...The yamaha rep took picture and will report back to tech dept.
