Is the '09 a workout to steer or is it my curve skiis?
I'm trying to determine whether the hard steering is normal for this sled or these curve skiis? I have the 4" round bar on. I rode a 156 miles, and I'm sooo sore. Granted it was my first ride of the year, so some soreness is expected. The last portion of the ride was through some twisties, and I couldn't believe how raw my hands felt from steering. Can someone help me with set up adjustments for these skiis to reduce some of this?
Oh, and by the way, like the "nytro specific bar", the 4" inch round bar sucks at turning on pavement. I almost got hit by a car a few times when I had yo ride on the road for a short bit.

I put on about 120 miles for my first run of the year and first run with the curves on my XTX. Was not sore at all, we had lots of bumps and softer trails.
Tomorrow I will be out for my second run and it will be on hard packed trails, I will let you know how that goes.

do we need to run the stock rubbers or the rubbers that come with the skis. if the rubber that curve sends with the ski is the tall side towards the front or rear of the sled....

Tall side on the back of the spindle Yami!
Hang in there fella's. It's been pointed out many times not only on this thread but also a few others that the Nytro platform requires a very special touch. Your setup likely wont work for someone else so it's very difficult to share configurations, pressures and spring preloads. What is important to keep in mind is the methodology used to tame the beast and that once you've reached your personal point of perfection - it will be tough to match it regardless of make or model.
Curve XS skis will give you the confidence, steering effort and flotation you're looking for AFTER you spend a good number of miles going through the suspension.
It should be mentioned that Ross over at Hygear has an awesome suspension package for both the '08s and '09s. He addresses valving, ride height and weight transfer with his setups - all of which are crucial to dialing the Nytro.
Anyone interested in meeting us on the trail can find us at the TY Ride in NY this week!
