Isn't the Yamaha Turbo "on paper" rated at 180HP? Well Ski-Doo 2022 turbo just matched that "on paper" Everyone gives 4 strokes a hard time but Ski-Doo obviously has been dumping TONS of money into their 4 stroke program and nobody does that just for the heck of it.

There will be a lot of hype and optimism by the Ski Doo faithful in the next 6 weeks but next season at the end of the lake there will only be one winner...
There's no doubt that Ski Doo has brought some new and exciting technology to their faithful but I don't think that the new Mach Z has enough to unseat the SW as King of the Lake.
Let the fun begin. I really like this time of the year!

"IF" the Winder makes it to the END of the lake.
All 3 of our Winders went down this weekend.
I'm too upset to even talk about it.

Fact-Doo owns the sled market. They own it for a reason. They make the sleds and motors people WANT. High speed runs across a lake? Sure, that's fun but I need a sled that will do well on rivers, lakes, in the trees and pull a load. Yamaha doesn't make it so I run Doo's. I've been back on 2 strokes since going to skidoo and won't change unless something really good comes out of the 4 stroke world. I rode 4 strokes since 2003 and loved them but Yamaha's DNA stagnated and performance suffered. It's going to take more than a Cat chassis and some tuning to get me off the BRP stuff. They're that good. This is coming from a guy with almost 20 years of dedicated yamaha ownership. I still love the old Nytros and Apex sleds but they are certainly dated.

No engine failures.
But let's talk Mach's for now.
My buds' 190 tune on his 900T will take my other buds' stock Winder so it's not far fetched to say it will be a race.
It's out of my price range so my little 600 will have to do for now.

If you turn the boost down on the Sidewinder and then maybe Ski-Doo might be close but right now, no way in hell will the Mach out run the King of all sleds

Stock to stock?
We'll see
I believe with launch control, the Mach will be so far ahead that it will take a big lake.
Don't forget the Winder has "180" claimed horsepower.
Throw in the fact the AC chassis robs a ton of power & speed.
Again, my buds 190 ACE will take my other buds stock Winder so i think with everything being equal & STOCK, it's gonna be a race!
This is gonna be fun.
I'm pulling for Yamaha, but i'm thinking they just got outclassed

Since Yamaha set the bar on the SW, I doubt Ski Doo would launch a "limited edition" sled without feeling confident that they could clear the bar, stock vs stock. Let the tuners battle it out after that. I'm still sticker shocked at the $20k price tag. I recall when sleds first went over $10k and we were wondering how anyone would pay that much $ for a sled. Steve brings up a good point about chassis efficiency too.

Which part of the chassis robs a ton of speed compared to the Doo?Stock to stock?

Never buy first year ANYTHING..LOL..My 98 Mach z, first year CK3 chassis, with center dump pipes, was great looking, but the ride was terrible (too stiff) and wasn't fast...until the pipes heated up, and then not so much...my dealer friend put his jaws pipes and milled head, etc., anyway, production is production and all the early season hype is just that. That's why the rags say 'greatest ever' then the following yeat you hear all the dirt how that new sled is the 'greatest ever'. But they get credit for keeping on, that's for sure. A motocross racer we just met on a doo with all those decals. not sure what it was....absolutely loved the winder..he worried about weight but said he didn't notice it. He does run 4 and 2 stroke bikes in competition so he knows the benefits and pitfalls. Just really surprised how well it rode, the smooth power...you know...lol.
