Did you guys see the new Cat Catalyst?

The snowtrax review of the R-XC model talks about how all the zr, riot and mountain use the same tunnel and just have different plates that attach for drop brackets depending what skid it takes. Hard to understand exactly how its set up, but being able to share tunnel certainly is more cost effective. Will be interesting to see if the cost effectiveness design has a positive outcome on the MSRP.

One thing I noticed is it appears the steering post is dead center so no goofy angle like on the winder/viper. Are the current 2 stroke procross running the offset steering column or was that just a 4 stroke thing?

Two strokes have same bell crank setup.

And regarding MSRP, Textron will just pocket that.

Wholly is it just me or do you get the feeling he got a big green cheque for that review. He even praised the gauge kinda. Also doesn’t it look like the exhaust come out the front. So the duct work must tunnel under the engine???

Good advertising spiel kinda makes me want buy one

Nice Vid, thinking once they start putting bigger power in this new chassis you may start seeing some gremlins

I don’t think so. It’s basically built like a Atv. Tubular front bulkhead. Guaranteed a 4st will fit with minor mods. Will it be as low cg as 2st. No but neither are our existing sleds. Once you sit on one you will have to have it. Feels like a Dirtbike where all the ProCross feel like a Goldwing. I am thinking a bigger guy could put his knee on the upper a arm in a corner. Really!

If they don't put the 4s in there before 2025 someone else may beat them to it.

900 triple 2 stroke might slide right in there...
The crank is "800 sized" so we are getting something bigger than an 800 twin.

Only triples in sleds are 4s from here on out.

Exactly and to get the optimum performance from a 2 stroke triple you need one pipe per cylinder. I dont see the 2S triple triple market ever coming back.

There’s no triple two stroke ever coming back
925 twin if cat tries to stay true to leading hp
They have a patent on a turbo setup and I think it may be a 2 stroke turbo.
Poo has it now, I bet doo has a flatlander 2 stroke turbo so cat follows suit.
I’m curious about the belt drive
I know there is big hp running through them but wonder about friction in comparison to chaincase
They work in the mountains for sure
That’s different than all out speed and acceleration and I’m interested in seeing more on that too
I know years ago drag racers tried them and went away from them
The sled looks neat and I hope cat hits a home run

Don't be so sure of that not happening. I have 2500 miles with belt drive on my 998, all smiles so far

Biggest prob with belt drive on a 4 stroke is the lack of reverse unless someone devises a belt drive reverse chaincase but then most of the belt drive advantage is gone.
