If a person was to swap a 2008 phazer motor into a 2010, everything should be plug and play, right? Were there any major changes that anyone is aware of which would make doing that swap an issue?
It should be a straight swap. However, later years (not sure when) got a LO oP (oil pressure) message added to the display when the pressure was low, especially during cold startup. I don't think the engine itself changed but maybe you should swap the oil pressure sensor. You could also compare the online microfiches of both years and see if any parts changed. I would imagine the ECU was certainly different but you would retain the 2010 one.
You have two oil pressure sensors on the newer motor, one on the older. You'll only need to connect one. Just disconnect the secondary and you'll be fine.
Edit: checked, and it seem as 2012 was the year they got the secondary sensor.
