Easy way to prime the oil pump

You can use a brake bleeder hand pump. Disconnec the oil return line from the tank and connect the hand pump to the return line. It takes a bit of pumping. This way you don't have a dry start. I don't know why this is not in the service manual.
 
That would get sump to tank bled but why not just disconnect fuel pump and crank it for a bit?When you are sucking it out with Mity Vac there all you are doing is taking it out of sump its not going through any bearings or anything critical.If you want to do that hook it up to the oil bleed screw above exhaust on head.
