No oil pressure on start up
I realize this is an old post, but it got me started in the right direction just the other day when I was finally ready to fire up my Apex/Vector. The Apex motor had sat a good long time and, while it hadn't been torn into, I had the same problem (no oil flow/oil pressure) on start up.
Tried most of the ideas here with no good result. Then I remembered that the parts guy at my local dealer did a number of RX-1 and Apex turbo conversions. So, I asked him what he did.
He said, before putting any oil in, block up the right hand ski 6" to 8"; pour a quart of oil down through the hole in the cam cover; pour a quart of oil into the oil tank; let it sit for a while (I left mine sit over night); add another quart of oil to the tank; sit it back on the floor and fire it up.
Works like a charm!
