OK guys does the EPS work well? After a full season of riding what's the verdict? Worth the $? Does it make less physical effort on tight and twisties? Planinng my 2012 order any info appreciated.

I heard that it work more at slow and mid speed, as you go faster it does nothing. and also work well when the power steering relay is not sticking.

Maybe someone can confirm this.

Absolutely.

Takes awhile to get used to as you seem to have to turn the handlebars more.

Fatigue is a thing of the past.

Sled feels several hundred pounds lighter.

Kickback in steering greatly reduced.

With Semi Agressive Snow Trackers and limiter up 1 hole it is on rails and there is no hint of darting.

Great improvement with the EPS. Once you get used to riding with it and switch back to a sled without it...you notice it right away. Everyone who has tried mine likes it. I've not heard a single negative feedback from test riders.

Drive a car without power steering and then drive one with power steering. You will want the one with power steering.

If i had not test drove one,i would of thought it was a gimmick, its not,we test drove the 2012 sleds at snodeo in colebrook march 4th,wow is all i can say,we tested the doos forst, and if you have driven the newer xp chassie, than you already know how freaken light they are,and feel, well the new apex line, all of them w/eps felt as light as any new doo,and maybe even lighter going real slow.

EPS is Awesome, no fatigue at all after 420kms in single day. Steering is effortless & makes sled feel a lot lighter. It is worth every penny!

Thanks for the replies. I'm planning on ordering a Venture GT. I had one when they came out in 09 and it was a beast to handle. I think now it should be a perfect long distance cruiser. If anyone has tested one of those please let me know what you think. Thanks again. George

they had one at the demo ride in munising on the weekend. that was the only one i didn't test. it had arived late on thursday. it has a different front end on it for better handling.but i did test 2011.

I Rode the Apex Standard,SE,and the 144 XTX, also the Vector LTX, and the steering was effortless.Long rides should now be much easier, and not be very tired at the end of the day.
I really enjoyed riding the long track sleds, and liked the way they handled. ;)! :-o :yam:

I'm also grappling with whether EPS is truly necessary on these sleds. I put 330 or so miles on my Attak last Monday (182 the day b4 also) and my arms/ shoulders weren't overly sore. My back was a tad sore from the bumps and I was generally tired, but shoulders not super sore. These sleds don't require that much strength to ride. And trust me, I'm a 39 year old desk jockey; and I'm no adonis/ regular weight lifter either. These are just my humble thoughts as I too grapple with whether EPS is truly worth it.

Supersled, I'm currently riding a Vector ltx gt. It's a real easy to handle sled. We ride long distances over great trails. The only time EPS would be a help is on tight twisty trails after riding a long way. From the feedback here it sounds like the way to go for me. Particularily on heavy sleds like the Veunture GT or Apex's.

I'm 62 and have ridden 5023 miles this year, 1100 on my Nytro XTX before Christmas and 3923 on my new Apex XTX after Christmas. There is no comparison between the ease of steering on the Apex and the Nytro. I ride alot of high mileage days and I don't think it would have been posible on the Nytro. The EPS is one of the main reasons I got the Apex, that and I missed the pull of the 4/hole motor. Best thing I have done lately, now I look forward to the tight twisty trails again.
