Do you guys think there will ever be a reasonably priced option to retrofit older sleds with EPS? I'm in the market and as an admitted cheap #*$&@ I'm thinking I could get into a $5K apex, but the power steering upgrade would be nice to have, especially if I put a seat jack on to take my wife or kids for the occasional slow ride.

I'd be nice if they could but I don't see how they would. That EPS sytme is huge, weighs like 27 pounds, and would take up a lot of space. Just don't see how any company would make one fit. And Yamaha has a great reason to not want a retro kit ever built -- they want you to buy a new Apex.
My buddy priced it out and i forgt it's really expensive.I think you even need the ecu.
If I had a 2011 I would seriously consider selling the power steering parts to make room for the larger fuel tank.

I priced the parts out last year and it was way over $3500.00 just for the parts.

Or hit the gym, get beefy shoulders, use C&A skis, and take corners like the sled's on rails...

I wont buy a new Apex until they offer one without power steering, been riding 30 years without it and plan to do the same for the next 30.

There is a retro fit kit available. And it's simple to install. Below are the instructions I found on one of the internets:
1) Unscrew gas cap of your 2011 or earlier sled.
2) Move 2012 into postion below cap.
3) Install gas cap by engaging threads and turning it to the right until snug.
That's it. Easy.

I know a guy that put P.S. in a SKI-DON'T. It took him all summer. I think he used racing stuff!, maybe from Micro-sprints or some other small car. The sled went to Canada last year and they said it worked well and they were happy with it. but [/b]it took him all summer to put it on
